Commission on the Status of Women 68th Session: May is a UN Delegate

Filed in Press Features — March 12, 2024

Founder and CEO, May, is taking her seat as a delegate for CSW68 once again.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68)  is the primary global intergovernmental body specifically for empowering women and promoting gender equality. Read more about the excellent work they do here.

Meeting for its 68th session, the CSW’s focus is on:

‘Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.’

This topic is particularly close to May’s heart, as one of our main goals here at May James Ltd is to spread more of the world’s wealth into the hands of women.

Recognising women’s rights as an investment issue is critical for creating transformative solutions that enable women to realise their rights, escape the cycle of poverty, and truly thrive.

From the 11-22 March, government officials, activists and experts will convene to discuss and agree on actionable steps to end women’s poverty.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anybody with a passion for equality and advocating for what is right in society to get involved with creating policy and setting standards.

Although held in New York at the UN Headquarters every year,  delegates such as May can access virtual events / platforms to discuss, reflect and create an action plan towards key topical issues surrounding inequality in the world today. Learn more about CSW here.
